The radio menu lists all radio messages that you get from your units in the field. Here you can see the status of the vehicles and units that are performing actions right now or have performed actions recently. You can view the missions they are currently working on and have access to the vehicles specs via the vehicle menu.

With alliance radio turned on, you can get the same information from your alliance members units.
