Police vehicles are not always staying in police stations, waiting for a a call and only leaving the station if they are needed. A lot of the time police are on the streets on patrol to be able to catch lawbreakers they see en route and to give society a sense of safety and security.
If you want to send police vehicles on patrol routes in MissionChief you first need to define the patrol route. You do so by going to the “Patrol Routes” tab of one of your dispatch centres.
Click on “Add”, define a route name and move the waypoints to where you want them. When you are finished, save the route.
You will now find the patrol route in the dropdown in the “Patrol Vehicles” tab of the dispatch center. Select the patrol route and the vehicle(s) that should use it. You can also define how long the vehicles should go on patrol.
You can use patrol routes to add more realism to the game and to distribute your vehicles over your map so that they re quicker on scene in the event of an alarm.
