Extensions are designed to ensure that you don’t receive missions you can’t complete. If you don’t own a specific extension, you won’t receive missions requiring vehicles associated with that extension. This system prevents frustration and helps match missions to your current capabilities.
As you progress, you'll naturally want to acquire more specialized vehicles. Extensions allow you to unlock these vehicles gradually, in a structured way.
Each extension typically unlocks several vehicles and often even some extra parking spaces. The costs for these are always bundled into the price of the extension. When generating missions, an extension unlocks one or multiple vehicle requirements. This makes it easy for the server to determine what types of vehicles you have, thus improving performance.
Moreover, extensions give you more control over mission generation. For example:
- You can activate or deactivate specific extensions at a station.
- You can manage stations or dispatch centers to control where missions are generated.
- Using dispatch centers, you can create coverage areas, ensuring missions aren’t generated in locations where the necessary extensions are missing.
If you’ve already acquired an extension but don’t yet have the required vehicles or personnel, you can temporarily deactivate it without shutting down the entire station. This flexibility allows you to optimize your gameplay as you develop your resources.
