Missions are located on the county and Europe map:

Singleplayer missions (red) can be attacked by your own units. After you successfully battled a single player mission you might gain resources, items and more.

Alliance missions (blue) can just be attacked with alliance units. this mission type offers resources to your alliance treasury after completion. They can just be found on the Europe Map.
