All ongoing transports and supporting troops running on the metropolis and tied to the metropolis center are sent to the metropolis center (the new metropolis) as soon as the metropolis is created. However, ongoing incoming and outgoing attacks will be aborted.

If the metropolis center or an linked cities are captured while the metropolis is being built, the linked cities are released and the construction of the metropolis is aborted. As long as fighting is taking place in any of the involved habitats, the ongoing creation of the metropolis is put on hold until a result is obtained.
