When you try to build a new building you may notice that some buildings cannot be placed everywhere. This can have several reasons. Each building has a set of placement rules that define where it can or cannot be placed. The placement rules are shown when you try to place the building on the map:

  1. Buildings come in different sizes. Depending on the size the field you want to place your new building may be blocked by another building.
  2. Each hexagonal tile has a type which is defined by the kind of buildings that can be found there in real life. Buildings can only be placed on a field if the type matches.
e.g.: You can place a farm on farmland, but it is not allowed to place the farm into a residential district.
  3. There are not enough free hexagonal tiles next to each other at the position you want to build. Check the building size of your building and search for a place with enough space around it.

If all placement rules are marked green the building can be placed.
