Only a few resources are available for you at the start of the game. To get access to new resources you have to do two things:
- You need a research center and start a research which unlocks the resource you want. When your research is completed your business partners will be informed and they may start to order the new resource.
- When the research is completed, you need to unlock it in the buildings you want to produce it.
- Navigate to the building you want to unlock the resource
- Open any production line of the building
- Click on the locked resource to start the unlocking process
